86.6 by 59 inches, in one piece
Zipping two singles together leaves a cold ridge exactly where you least want one. This is a single piece of fabric the footprint of a queen bed, so there is nothing to zip and nothing to come apart at two in the morning. It opens on both sides, the top and the toe — either of you can get out without climbing over the other.
Warm at 30°F, breathable at 70°F
Limit rated 30°F to 70°F, most comfortable between 40°F and 60°F. Two people put out roughly twice the heat, which is an advantage on a cold night and a problem on a mild one — so the two-way zippers let each side vent independently from the feet up.
Water-resistant outside, soft inside
A high-grade polyester shell sheds dew and light rain, while the lining stays breathable against skin so you are not sleeping in a plastic bag. The hollow-fibre filling holds its loft, and the whole thing goes in the washing machine — which matters more than it sounds after a muddy weekend.
One sack instead of two
A double sounds like more to carry. It rolls into the included sack at 20 by 12 inches, then the compression straps pull it down to 15 by 12 — a quarter of the height gone, and less bulk than two separate bags with two separate stuff sacks.
