Used for a weekend trip. Worked as advertised. Roof bars were delayed so I reluctantly used the door hooks. Had no issues over a 4 hour trip. Will use again with roof bars. Would probably be most effective in a roof rack. Was a larger hit to EV range than expected. 300 mile range decreased to 270.
I got the VENTURE 4TH Rooftop Cargo Carrier for a road trip with my husband and baby, and it was a total lifesaver. As any parent knows, babies come with a lot of stuff...extra blankets, a travel crib mattress, diapers, formula, even our small cooler and duffel bags, and this carrier held it all with no problem. We don't have a roof rack, but the straps worked great and kept it secure the whole way. We hit rain, and I was honestly so relieved that everything stayed completely dry. The material feels extremely durable, and the weatherproof zipper flap does its job effectively. It definitely freed up space inside the car, which made a huge difference for our sanity. Folding it back into the storage bag takes a minute, but that's expected with something this size. For any mom doing a family trip, this is absolutely worth it. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat!
This is the first time I have ever used one of these rooftop luggage bags. First off, it has more room than I feel like I'll ever use so space is definitely not a worry at all! My crossbars are a bit too closely spaced but it doesn't effect how it straps on. I've used it twice. Once in the rain and the other time it was sunny. The time it was raining it did really well. My luggage didnt get wet or have any moisture on them. It didnt rain too hard but it was big drops and alot of it. I like that the zipper has a flap that goes over it and has a velcro closure. It gives the zipper a little bit of extra protection. I also really like that it comes with a storage bag for when I'm not using it. Overall I am very happy with this bag & it has definitely exceeded my expectations.
This is made with a thick material and appears to be well-made. Time will tell if it holds up on long trips but my initial impression is that it will hold up well.
